Library Services

In addition to a wide selection of books for adults, teens, and children, Jackson Memorial Library offers many other services and items that may be borrowed. Visit the front desk to learn about the following:

  • Weekly adult and youth programs

  • Maine Authors Talks

  • Mobile Hotspots, which allow you to take Wi-Fi with you

  • Telescope

  • Large print collection

  • DVDs, newspapers and magazines

  • Tool Lending Library

  • Kitchen Tool Library

  • High speed Wi-Fi

  • Bookstore with a variety of books, puzzles, DVDs, and CDs

  • Meeting rooms for private use

  • Copier and printer

  • Inter-library loans

  • Guest passes to two museums in Rockland: the Children's Coastal Museum and the Farnsworth Art Museum. Just bring your library card to the circulation desk and ask about the passes.

  • Botanical Garden passes

  • Teen Room where teens and tweens can hang out after school, with a variety of books, games, school supplies, and more

  • Children’s Room with a variety of books and toys for kids to enjoy while at the library

JML’s Free tent is currently closed for Repairs.

Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens: 2 adults, unlimited children. Call the library or visit in person to schedule a day to visit the botanical garden.

Farnsworth Museum:
JML has 4 passes. Each pass is good for 1 adult. Children under 18 years old are free. Passes are good for 48 hours. 

Coastal Children’s Museum:
JML has one pass. Each pass is good for the date requested and must be signed by a library staff member. Pass is good for 6 visitors. Children under the age of 2 are free.
